Patients and Families
About eighty-five percent (85%) of people with concussions recover within one to several weeks. It is important to receive appropriate initial medical care and information on what to expect in the period following concussion. Your health care provider should monitor your symptoms and help you access follow-up care if symptoms do not resolve in a few weeks. Navigating the complex health care system can be a challenge, and through our work we aim to ensure patients are seen by the appropriate health care professionals at the appropriate time.
Concussions Ontario is the public information hub for the Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation’s (ONF’s) projects and ongoing work on concussion.
If you or a family member have sustained a concussion and are looking for information that has not been provided on this site, please refer to our Resources for Patients and Families page.
